About
Forever Be Sure
Our goal is to provide creative Christian music that allows the listeners to hear the truth of the Bible and be drawn to greater worship, love and obedience to Christ.

Meet Heather Schopf
Hello Friend!
There’s a strong likelihood that while you’re reading this, I’m sitting up in my warm bedroom, laptop on lap, and coffee close by. My IKEA bedroom chair or my piano bench are my seats of choice during my work day! I love this ministry God began to weave into my life not long after my second child was born. It has lived and grown alongside the joys and challenges of marriage, motherhood, ministry, and personal growth, and continues to be one of my greatest joys AND sharpening tools in my life.
No wonder I call my song collection my “spiritual diary”. If you only knew the untold stories behind some of my songs…
If Jesus Christ is your Savior and you love His Written Word, I’m confident you’ll connect with the music of Forever Be Sure. And I’m convinced it’s because of the mysterious way the Spirit “leaps inside” (Luke 1:41) or “burns within” (Luke 24:32) upon coming in contact with The Word. Put music to The Word and there’s great potential for impact!
I’ve lived and loved music since childhood.
I love words too. Scrabble, Boggle, poetry, prose – they’re my jam.
I believe God has gifted me with a few “artistic bones”.
And I’m crazy-emotional (send help!).
So, maybe song-writing was not a surprising destiny?
But I must say: Writing music infused with a clear message from the Living Word of God – THAT is what makes “music-making” worth a life-long pursuit for me.
I’ve asked that God would help me take His truth, set it high up on a beautiful pedestal (of music), so that, as another song-writer said, “many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord” (Psalm 40:3).
I feel the pinch of time. I desire that Forever Be Sure music will strengthen you on your short journey to the finish line! He is Worthy!
Some Personal Info Tidbits:
I began piano lessons under my mother’s instruction around age 6. I’m deeply grateful for her diligent commitment to further my music skills and opportunities.
At age 17, I entered Bible college, then earned Music and Bible degrees in 2003.
I married my college sweetheart, John, in 2002. He’s a Seattle-native, coffee-fan, biking-enthusiast, Bible-lover, and a shepherd-at-heart (of his little flock at home and his larger flock at church).
We welcomed 4 children into our home all before I hit age 30. Now 2 are off at college (whaaat??… time flies!).
I taught private piano & voice lessons for about 3 years after college, but upon discovering the joys of creative composition, I’ve essentially hung up my teacher hat for good. (I found out teaching’s just not for everyone!)
I’m totally fine with airplanes, but am kinda terrified of heights. I get sweaty hands when I see pictures of people sitting on the edge of a cliff. (And I’m starting to sweat now just thinking about it… ew.)
I kill plants and burn food somewhat regularly. I do enjoy and admire friends who can cook and know how to cultivate the natural world.
I love visual arts, a clean house, deep/meaningful conversations, and laughing till I cry. We melancholics treasure God’s gift of humor!
And, lastly, I have a donut habit. Once a week, I privately consume 2-3 sprinkle-loaded delicacies in my car for my breakfast+lunch. I am not ashamed of this, and practice good eating habits the rest of the week. I will not turn down donut money. They make me so happy.

Our History
At a family gathering in the summer or 2006, a spark for music composition was lit. We began a mutual endeavor to report each month whatever each one had time and creative energy to accomplish. It didn’t take long before our enjoyment developed into somewhat of a mission to use this avenue to bring glory to the Lord through our lives. As we ministered to our local churches with the new compositions and arrangements, we were met with much encouragement from fellow believers, whose words of support still help fuel the efforts of FBS. January of 2008 marked our “inaugural concert” and the recording of our first CD album.
Since then, God has opened opportunities to bring our music on the road and produce more CD albums, piano books, choral books, a drama production, and new hymns for the congregation. We’ve also been blessed with many other ministry-minded musicians who have greatly enhanced the performance arm of FBS. We desire that the Lord “go before” all of the efforts of FBS and continue to use our passion for music to exalt His Person and Word!
