Our History

At a family gathering in the summer or 2006, a spark for music composition was lit. We began a mutual endeavor to report each month whatever each one had time and creative energy to accomplish. It didn’t take long before our enjoyment developed into somewhat of a mission to use this avenue to bring glory to the Lord through our lives. As we ministered to our local churches with the new compositions and arrangements, we were met with much encouragement from fellow believers, whose words of support still help fuel the efforts of FBS. January of 2008 marked our “inaugural concert” and the recording of our first CD album.

Since then, God has opened opportunities to bring our music on the road and produce more CD albums, piano books, choral books, a drama production and new hymns for the congregation. We’ve also been blessed with many other ministry-minded musicians who have greatly enhanced the performance arm of FBS. We desire that the Lord “go before” all of the efforts of FBS and continue to use our passion for music to exalt His Person and Word!

In a Nutshell . . .

Our mission is to glorify God by composing, arranging, and performing message-based music with fresh, appropriate sounds that help God’s people accurately and passionately worship our Creator and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Our aim and desire is to help fill an increasing void as we provide tasteful music that will spark a connection with the generation of saints in our era.

Composers & Arrangers

HEATHER SCHOPF

OPERATIONS MANAGER & COMPOSER/ARRANGER ( email Heather )

At a young age, Heather began piano lessons under her mother, Nancy’s, instruction. Over the years, her developing skill and love of music led her to attend Bible college, earning her Music and Bible degrees in 2003.

For a few years, Heather taught private piano and voice lessons, finding it to be both a musical and ministry outlet. Then in 2006, she began focusing and expanding her musical pursuits by composing and arranging mostly vocal music. She finds joy in ministering to local churches while traveling with FBS or in her own congregation, Lighthouse Baptist Church of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Being a wife, as well as a mother of four, Heather delights in the creative freedom that being a stay-at-home mom allows. She is thankful for the time she has to apply herself to the many tasks of FBS.

HEIDI FULLER

COMPOSER/ARRANGER

As a child, Heidi’s mother became her first piano teacher.  Over the years, she has acquired further education, invaluable teaching experience, ministry and performance opportunities, and her Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Bible in 2002.

Heidi delights to share in her husband’s music ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in Derby, KS, as she participates in the choir and ministers in other ways vocally and at the piano.

At home, Heidi keeps busy with her 5 children, including triplets!  (Follow her blog at somuchmore2014.blogspot.com)

NANCY BJOKNE

DISTRIBUTION MANAGER, PIANO COMPOSER/ARRANGER

Having applied herself to piano instruction in her growing-up years, Nancy has used her musical gift in many local churches and has expanded that ministry through arranging.

Early on as a mother, she diligently committed herself to training her two daughters (Heidi and Heather) to develop their own musical talent and appreciation. Today, she delights in the fruit of her labors as she participates in the cooperative music efforts of FBS.

Nancy and her husband, Dan, currently reside in Ankeny, Iowa, where Dan is on staff at Faith Baptist Bible College. Living geographically right in between her two daughters, Dan and Nancy will often make trips to see one or the other (and, of, course, her 9 grandchildren!).
